Why are my voters showing as unsubscribed? Can they resubscribe?

Voters will become unsubscribed if they have clicked the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the announcement or reminder emails. We are required to include the unsubscribe link to meet the requirements of the CAN-SPAM Act.

It is quite possible that the voter clicked this by accident, or the email was forwarded and the recipient of the forward clicked unsubscribe, but the email was coded to the original recipient. Another possibility is that the voter has a filtering firewall that is hyper-aggressive, and it had a robot that followed the link and unsubscribed them.

If you would like to follow-up with these voters to see if they would like to be resubscribed, you can send them the following link to submit a resubscribe request:

Please request that the voter includes your association’s unique abbreviation to help us quickly identify the request. Our support team will process the request within one business day and resubscribe the voter to ensure they can participate in future elections.

SAMPLE EMAIL TO SEND TO YOUR VOTERS:

Dear Voter,

Our election emails are sent by our partner, AssociationVoting (announcement@associationvoting.com). Unfortunately, we were unable to send your email and voting credentials because your email address is currently marked as unsubscribed. This may have happened if you previously clicked the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of one of our voting emails, which permanently prevents AssociationVoting from sending you emails.

If you wish to participate in the election and receive your login credentials, please complete the following form to resubscribe: Resubscribe to AV Emails

Please include our organization's unique abbreviation (XXXX) to help AV quickly identify the request. Once submitted, the AssociationVoting team will process your request so that you can receive our election emails.

Thanks,
Voting Manager
