How do I share results?

How do I share results?

Starting from the dashboard there are a couple of ways to send emails out with the results from your election, or if you just wish to update your members on the changes they want to make.

To share these results there are few places to do so. The first method will be detailed below.

Method 1 (Scroll farther down for method 2)

Click on the Results tab, then the vote counts tab.

Once on the vote counts screen, there are two steps here which are to (1.) click on the Share results button in the upper right-hand corner. This will produce (2.) a link that can be copied and pasted into an email or text to quickly and easily share charts and information about the election. While it will not contain all the results information that is in the full export it will contain the same information as on the vote counts screen!

Below is what the link will show the person that the link is sent to creating a separate screen that only shows the voting results that mirror that of the vote counts tab pictured below.

Method 2

This method is good for an automated way to share the results with your voting group. It is super convenient since it should help reduce people questioning results as well as the organization of it all.

Unlike the other way, this will send the link to everyone in the same way that you would send out an announcement email.

First, let’s go to the email announcement tab and add a campaign.

Once there you will want to name it definitely make sure to name it something relating to results so it is not confused with the announcement or reminder emails. Also you will want to send this to all voters so as to make sure everyone is able to see the results.

The next step is to then to select the template. Within the AV system there is already an autogenerated share results template. This is what you will want to select to send to your voters.

After you select the template it will come up just like any other email announcement allowing you to edit it. Keep in mind that the {{election_results_URL}} is the link to the results so do not remove this from the email template.

Once you have gotten here and the template looks good the pattern is the same as scheduling an email. You will then click Preview/Test then continue through the email setup to the scheduling stage. Here it is recommended that for results specifically, it will be best to send at the end of the election as shown below or select a custom date and send it a few days after the election closes.
